The Fall of Goliath

Goliath’s Fall confronts the perceived power of the Ku Klux Klan by turning its hood into a fragile, burning symbol destined to collapse. By crafting the hood herself and igniting it slowly, Melissa Brown reclaims the imagery and shifts the power dynamic, transforming fear into relief, defiance, and joy. The work becomes a declaration that oppressive histories are not immutable—they can burn, and their end can be celebrated.
